OMG! A Serial Sh!t Investor

Angel investors love investing in serial entrepreneurs.  Reflecting on my own investments I have to concede that there are very few of those in my portfolio. 

However, looking at the investor side, I have one interesting observation. Namely, I have invested in some startups that are all about excrement, be that human or from farm animals. Now, that makes me technically a 'Serial Sh!t Investor'.

First came Down to Earth Systems. I made this investment back in 2012 together with fellow angel investors Greg Young and Nigel McLisky. Essentially, the idea was to separate liquids from solids to reduce the odour and stretch the service interval. More info here.
Unfortunately, this business went down the drain ⤵

After that I invested in Techion. They handle all kinds of farm shit. Founder and CEO Greg Mirams doesn't mind getting his hands dirty and shows how its done, ☞ in this video. In fact, the scope of the technology has also been expanded to the human species in the Starworms project (STopAnthelminthic Resistant WORMS) that is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This business is still going strong. Onwards and upwards ⤴︎

Next could be the production of nursery growing pots from a manure and clay mix. Great idea from Oscar, a 13 year old school boy who brought this idea to one of our angelic advice sessions, the ADI.Clinic up in Northland.
